Possibly the Piano
Well this website, sonatapiano.musicsheetsa.com, who supposedly hosts free sheet music, gave a very nice yet grammatically incorrect statement explaining the pros of the piano over other instruments. Even though a piano can cost quite a lot, and it is not very portable, it is "the most important musical instrument in western music for solo performance, chamber music, composition and verification." I agree with this, but I want to add that the piano is used for much more than what the article stated. It is often used in modern rock and jazz more that western music, or at least, that's what I believe. Regardless, what the article said was pretty sound, if you have anything to say, please comment in the section below.

Guitar vs. Piano
I just found a very interesting article at ezinearticles.com that gives reasons why the guitar is the most important instrument, and why it's better than the piano. Me, being the amazing person that I am, already know how to play the piano, and therefore feel kinda prejudiced towards this article, but I must agree that it makes a lot of sense. It says that the guitar is much more affordable, maintainable, and easier to transport. The one part about this article that I vehemetly disagree with is when it states that guitars have the most influential part in just about all music. This might've been true like, 10, 20 years ago, but now, guitars are becomming kinda cliche. I value your opinion though, so if you disagree, please coment.

It's not your voice...
Hello people! Just recently, as I continue on my quest, I discovered a blog post at CPU-1.com that proclaimed that the most important instrument is...
The human voice.
I disagree with CPU-1 because in essence, the use of voice in songs are typically worse than useless. This is even more true in modern music such as rap and screamo. People yell or say stupid and obscene things that make absolutely no sense at all. Even in country music, of which it's entire purpose is to get a message across, an idea can be conveyed much better in a well written speech, in which you can include quite a bit more of what your trying to say.
CPU-1 also claims that singing "...will allow you learn a great deal about songs and how melodies and rhythms come in concert to form some of essentially the most beloved songs our species has at any time developed."
Coming from personal experience here, I can tell you that the exact opposite of this statement is true. I'm not saying that this is wrong, but seriously, learning to sing is much easier if you've already learned how to keep a beat and play melodies on just about any instrument, typically the drums or the keyboard.
Regardless though, some of you might agree with CPU-1, so I'm putting a "Voice" option on the poll at the top of the page, which, by the way, closes on October 31. Please Please Please Please vote for what instrument you think is most important, because it will help me on where I look to complete my quest.

On a quest...
I am on a quest.
The quest for the most important instrument that has ever and will ever be played in a rock band.
My opinion alone will not be good enough, though. I need the assistance of all you happy people.
Believe it or not, I do care what you have to say.
If you think electric guitar is most important, I want to hear it.
If you think the triangle is most important, I want to hear it.
If you think the cowbell is most important, I do NOT want to hear it.
No exceptions.
And most importantly of all, if you know of any other websites or blogs or ANYTHING, let me know.
For I am on a quest, and I will not rest until I reach it's conclusion.
Well, maybe a little bit.
It's required for the human body to function.
BUT AFTER I REST I WILL COMPLETE MY QUEST!!!
